Why The Sound Is Heard More Clear At Night Than At Day Time?
=>Sound is a longitudinal wave which needs material medium to propagate.So it's velocity depends upon the nature of medium.The most prominent reasons for the loudness of sound at night time are as follows:-
1)Moisture in the air =>We know the velocity of sound is inversely proportional to the density of medium.At night time the air becomes less dense than dry air because density of vapour is less than that of water.Hence it reduces the density of medium and as we know velocity is inversely related with density,velocity will increase which makes the sound more clear,louder and better.
2)Another reason behind it is that at night time no sound producing as well as absorbing bodies present.So sound is heard louder.
