Arrhenius Theory

Arrhenius theory gives the peoperties of an electrolyte in solution. The main postulates are given below:-

1)When any electrolyte is dessolved in water or in any polar solvent, electrolyte dissociates giving electrically charged particles called ions.Positively charged is called cation while negatively charged is called anion.

2)In solution, after dissociation, ions tend to reunite. Thus an equillibrium state occurs between electrolyte and ions.It is called dynamic equllibrium and described by equillibrium constant.

3)In solution state, cation equels to anion. So it is electrically neutral.

4)On passing electric current, charged particles are attracted towards opposite electrods thus conducting electricity.

5)The properties of electrolyte in solution is due to ions present...etc.

- What Is Normality Of A Solution?
Definition :-     Normality refers to number of gram equivalent of substance dissolved in per liter of  it's solution. Here number of  gram equivalent is obtained by dividing weight of substance in gram by the equivalent...

- Faraday's Laws Of Electrolysis
Michael Faraday in 1834 put forward two laws of electrolysis. His two laws can be states as:-Statements of the lawsFaraday's 1st Law of Electrolysis    This law states that,"The amount of substance deposited or liberated at respective...

- Faraday's Law Of Electromagnetic Induction
Faraday introduced the law of induction of current when conductor cuts the magnetic field. This law is mostly used in motors, dynamo, generator etc.The main postulates of Faraday's laws are as follows:- FIRST LAWFirst Law of Faraday's Electromagnetic...

- Concepts Of Acids And Bases
Acids and bases have been given several concepts so that we can recognize them.Mainly Three concepts have been given. They are: 1)Arrhenius concept =>This concept states that,"A acid is a species which gives [H^+] ion in an aqueous solution and base...

- Discovery Of Protons
Protons are subatomic particles that, with neutrons and electrons, are the principal constituents of atoms. Protons are positively charged atoms that reside in the nucleus of an atom. These protons add the overall positive charge of a molecule. The mass...
